Club Values

The Westmeath Minotaurs is an organization that will not compromise its values for the sake of winning or any other reason. Adherence to our values will sustain the club through good and bad times and allow members to be part of an organization they can be proud of. The goal of the club is for all members to contribute and become leaders both on and off the field.

Loyalty:     Bear true faith and allegiance to the Club, Team, Coaches, Committee, and Players. Members support club leaders and stand up for fellow players.

Duty:     Doing your duty means more than just playing on Sunday. It means consistently coming to training, volunteering for fundraising events, and helping out whenever possible. Members don’t let the burden fall on only the few. Doing your duty spreads the load and improves your club.

Respect:     Treat people as they should be treated and demand that others do the same. A culture of respect allows every member to contribute his or her best effort to the success of the club.

Selfless Service:     Selfless service is recognition that you are part of a team; something bigger than yourself. The success of the club is more important than the success of the individual. The more we unselfishly give of ourselves the more that we will get in return from others.

Honor:     Honorable people are those that live by high values. Values are simple and obvious but difficult to achieve daily. Honor is achieved by carrying out, acting, and never giving up on living by higher values.

Integrity:     Doing what is right, legally and morally. Do nothing and say nothing that deceives others. The gateway to trust is integrity. Trust is essential for a group of people to work towards and achieve a common goal.

Personal Courage (physical and moral):     Face fear, danger, and adversity. Physical courage is a prerequisite for the sport of American Football. Moral courage, which is harder to achieve, allows us to push through difficulty and enables integrity with each other; especially when the issue is unpleasant to discuss. Personal Courage enables Honor.
