The Westmeath Minotaurs Emerald Bowl hopes came to an end with a Wild Card round loss to the South Dublin Panthers in a nailbiter. 26-27. In a close, back and forth affair that saw the Panthers up 13-20 at the half, the Minotaurs came back to take the lead, 26-20, before a touchdown and one point conversion in the dying minutes of the second half gave the win to the Panthers, who go on to face the Dunboyne Wildcats in the semifinal.
It was an exciting season for the Minotaurs, with their return to top flight playoff action for the first time since 2017. With a lot to build on, and the ability to field a second team for the first time, the Minotaurs will look to make a real push for Emerald Bowl glory in 2027.
