The Westmeath Minotaurs made 2 trips out of Mullingar today, with the Premier Division team heading to Limerick to face the Maynooth Hurricanes and South Dublin Panthers, while the Division 1 team made the long trip down to Cork to face the Panthers 2nds and the Dublin City Wolves.
The Premier Squad came away with two wins at the UL Sports Grounds, defeating the Hurricanes 32-28 and the Panthers 28-21 to move to 5-1 on the season, putting them in a tie for first place atop the divison, and one step closer to clinching a playoff berth.
The Division 1 Squad split their games 1-1 at Tramore Valley Park, defeating the Panthers 2nds 33-18, but falling to the Dublin City Wolves 12-39. This puts them at 3-3 for the year, and in the 5th spot in the 9-team division. A strong final push could still propel them into a playoff position.
